Welcome to HSFC Volunteers.org!

Dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and other small mammals to be cared for ... a farm, an office and two thrift stores to be maintained ... fundraisers and events to be staffed ... we have a volunteer activity of interest for everyone!!

Interested in Volunteering? Please browse the site as it contains most of what you will need to know including descriptions of activities and opportunities, and the necessary forms. Please pay particular attention to items noted in RED.

This site is primarily content-based by design -- the information included throughout the site is important and we hope that with fewer visual distractions, you will review the information in greater detail.

Once you have reviewed the site and determined that HSFC is where you would like to volunteer, please visit the Forms page and download the appropriate application. Upon receipt of your completed and signed application and agreement, the documents will be processed and you will receive a welcome packet via email. The packet will include instructions on how to schedule your orientation and begin volunteering. NOTE: Submitting your application and agreement is the required first step on the path to volunteering. Special circumstances are listed below - please review prior to submitting your application.

Underage volunteers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during all service hours. Minimum age of 15 for student volunteers - suggested activities for youth volunteers under age 15 can be found on our Kids' page.

Court Ordered Community Service workers: We do not process court-ordered CS workers via our regular application. If you have hours to be completed and wish to know whether you can support HSFC, please contact our main office at 703-385-7387 and advise your requirements. If we have work available that is suitable, the manager will direct you as appropriate.

*** Students Aged 15 - 17: IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING BECAUSE YOU NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS FOR SCHOOL, WE MUST KNOW THIS IN ADVANCE.

Current Volunteers: We communicate with our volunteer base primarily by email. If you are actively volunteering but ARE NOT receiving emails from HSFC periodically, chances are good your email address has rejected and since been deleted from our system. If you have changed providers or email accounts, please let us know. FYI -- If you unsubscribe from the list, we have NO WAY to ensure you are receiving our communications.

HSFC recognizes that our strength and ability to continue serving the community successfully lies in our volunteer corps. Please know that we are immensely grateful to each and every volunteer for whatever time or talent you are able to offer to us so that we can continue our mission. We humbly thank you for choosing HSFC as the organization to which you give of yourself.

Please bookmark this site and check back often to view the latest volunteer news and opportunities!
